Since our formation in January 2020, the OCYMCA Crochet Club has actively donated handmade items to those in need throughout the community. By far our most significant contribution was as part of the Warm Up America, Made With Love campaign. Over the course of several months during the fall and early winter of 2020/2021, we made and collected over 1600 warm winter items for those facing homelessness in Ocean County. We received donations from local churches, other crochet/knit groups in the area, and caring, generous individuals from as far away as California and Florida. We were honored to be featured in a South Jersey Observer article highlighting our efforts.
